The Creator and Supreme Being (Deity) of the world is Jesus Christ. He was in the beginning and all things were made through Him and without Him nothing was made that were made (John 1:1-3). God the Father created the world (Gen.1:1) through God the Son (Col. 1:16, Heb.1:2).
Basic characteristics of Jesus Christ as a deity include:
- Jesus Christ gives life: And this is God’s testimony regarding Jesus Christ: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. The life God wants for humans (i.e. eternal life) is available only if we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Personal Saviour. Eternal life is not a wage to be earned, but a gift to be received from God through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 John 5:9-11, John 1:4, John 5:24).
- All judgment is given to Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ will judge the living and the dead. Christ’s judgment is righteous because it is in accordance with God’s divine will (John 5:30, 2 Tim. 4:1).
LIFE APPLICATION: As God raises people from the dead and gives them life (John11:1-16), so Christ gives people life (John 1:4, 5:24) and He also has the power to judge both the living and the dead (John 5:30,2 Timothy 4:1).
